Former adult club to become Brunswick Community College building

One of the adult clubs raided by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office over the summer for alleged prostitution will soon be transformed into a branch of the local community college.
Brunswick Community College bought the building in Calabash formerly known as Close Encounters for $1 million and plans to renovate the more than 15,000-square-foot building into classrooms for continuing education, college officials said.
One of the Triangle's most prominent strip clubs will soon have a new corporate parent.
VCG Holding, which owns The Men's Club of Raleigh, agreed to be purchased by another publicly traded company, Rick's Cabaret International.
The combined company will operate 38 clubs in more than a dozen states and form the "largest publicly traded operator of upscale gentlemen's clubs in North America," the companies said in a prepared statement.
